.5 oz Fresh Lime

Last year around this time we were in the midst of planning our wedding and things were pretty hectic!
This year we've (tried to) slow down a little and I promised myself I would take the time to truly enjoy my favorite season. Each year it goes so by quick and I'm always wishing we had done more...don't you agree?

Williams Sonoma Mulled Cider
This mulled cider is my favorite. If you've ever been into Williams Sonoma this time of year it's likely that they have samples of this made in store. It fills the entire store with the most fragrant fall smell. It's enough to get you in and for me it was enough to make me purchase it!
When you make it at home, your entire house smells amazing and the taste is just as impressive. It's great for a chilly fall day or for when you're having guests over. (Guarantee they walk in and say, "it smells amazing in here!")
You just heat the cider with their signature mulling spices, pour into mugs and then garnish with a cinnamon stick. You can even add bourbon to it if you'd like as well! You can click here to get the link to the cider!
Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea
For those non pumpkin lovers THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!
This is my favorite Harney & Sons fall tea for the nights I want to cozy up on the couch. This is their most popular flavored tea worldwide, It's a blend of black teas, three types of cinnamon, orange peel, and sweet cloves and it's oh so good! Fultons Harvest Pumpkin Pie Liqueur
To my own surprise I was a little disappointed when I tried the much anticipated Pumpkin Spice Baileys. If I am being honest, they aren't always great with most of their flavors. Sometimes the traditional is just the best. So instead at the restaurant we decided to try this Fultons Pumpkin Pie Liqueur. All I can say is YUM! I keep one of these in my refrigerator and have a glass on the rocks often! I also use it every year in my Pumpkin Spice Martini or you can add it to your coffee!
Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
This is one of my bar staples for fall cocktails. One bottles goes a long way and you can use it in so many different recipes! This ginger liqueur contains syrup made from crystallized Chinese Ginger, Grand Champagne Cognac, Neutral Spirit, Orange Blossom Honey from Provence, and Vanilla.
I used it in my most recent recipe on instagram. The Hudson Valley Mule. If you're more of a traditional Moscow Mule lover, you can even add this to your mule for extra Ginger flavor. (That's what I do!)
I also use it in my Sparkling Cider Martini and My Apple Cider Sangria.
I have tried using Ginger Brandy but I always go back to this Canton Ginger Liqueur.

Last week we had our Engagement Party at my mother's beautiful home. If you're following me on Instagram you know that I am always sharing photos of all of her stunning decor! We wanted to keep with the 'cozy' Winter theme because as most of you guys know, that's my thing! Here are some photos with all of the party details.

The Hot Chocolate Bar was my favorite part of the party. I love adding all of the details from stirrers, straws, and garnishes. We even made custom coffee cup sleeves! We used Williams Sonoma hot chocolate because well, it truly is the best! We added all sorts of toppings, my favorite being the chocolate spoons that we found in Homegoods! The Sign was made from a piece of wood we bought at A.C. Moore and we wrote on it with a Sharpie which almost made it looked like the words were etched into the wood! (Easy Peasy!)
We added all sorts of liquors and cordials to 'spike it" but I always like to give guests a suggestion on what will taste good. Sometimes people get overwhelmed when there's so much to choose from. We printed out our favorite recipe and put it into a frame for our guests to try!
For food, we decided to go with Lola's Catering in Poughkeepsie NY. They did a wonderful job setting up a delicious spread and serving to our family and friends.

Our delicious cake was made by the best baker in the Hudson Valley, Confections by Simply Sasa's! She makes two of my favorite flavors. Rainbow Cookie and Cannoli. (I recommend trying both!) You can order cakes, cookies, cupcakes through her website which is linked here!
I am totally guilty of letting my excitement for Christmas to sometimes overshadow the fact that Thanksgiving deserves its time to shine. The thing I love most about Thanksgiving is that it's a low pressure Holiday. There's no pressure to find and wrap gifts, mail cards, etc. It truly is a day that can enjoy our family, friends and some delicious food.. While there may be no tree trimming and gift wrapping involved having everyone gathered at your home can sometimes be a bit stressful. I wanted to give you a few suggestions on how to add a few easy and affordable elements to your Thanksgiving that will truly make it more enjoyable for both you and your guests!
Big Batch Cocktail
Making a Signature Drink ahead of time is always the best idea if your hosting a holiday at your house. In the midst of prepping food, cleaning up, and making time to chat with your family most of us do not have time to be whipping up Cosmopolitans, White Russians, and an Old Fashioned for Uncle Tom. I always prepare my favorite fall big batch cocktail which is my Apple Cider Sangria. It has just enough sweetness for the ladies to like, and an added kick of Fireball makes the men want to drink it too. (Trust me, even my Grandfather loved it last year!) Your guests will also truly appreciate having a drink ready for them when they arrive.
If you want to add some coziness to your Thanksgiving table this year my number one tip is to add candles! They add such an elegance and warmth to any space that will make your guests instantly feel relaxed and at home. I love the look of candlesticks mixed with pillar candles in the center of the table and smaller tea lights scattered throughout the rest. Here's a look at my tablescape from last year. There are tons of things you can add that cost very little like pinecones, leaves, tea lights, and mini pumpkins. Remember not to get too carried away because the food is the star of the show on Thanksgiving. ( I have to remind myself this myself every year!)
This Thanksgiving Mad Libs was a simple but super fun touch to my table from last year. It's a great icebreaker if all your guest don't know each other. I wanted to share with you one of my favorite cocktail creations my 'Sangrita' which combines two of my favorite things! (Sangria + Margarita)
I have had a Half Sangria + Half Margarita before but it was a frozen version. I prefer my drinks on the rocks so I wanted to try to prepare it over ice. I am not going to lie, this cocktail took me quite a few tries before I could perfect the recipe & the coloring!
The trick to getting it to layer is to SHAKE both the Margarita & the Sangria (separately) before pouring them together.
Tip: You can make this cocktail without layering it and it will taste just as good. (trust me!) It will just be entirely pink in color.
Here's the recipe & if you're ambitious how to layer it as well! 😉
You start by making a traditional Margarita
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Triple Sec
.5 oz of Sour Mix
Splash of Lime Juice
Shake & Pour over ice into a Mason Jar
Then you make your Red Sangria
1 oz Red Wine
.5 oz Blackberry Brandy
.5 oz Banana Liqueur
Splash of Orange Juice
Top your Mason Jar off with ice and start to strain & pour your Sangria SLOWLY over your margarita with your bar spoon placed on top of your glass. As you pour, you should see it begin to layer!
Add fresh fruit to the top (Apples, Oranges, Strawberries) & garnish with a Lime Wheel
*Salt Rim Optional
Happy World Nutella Day! (As if anyone really needs a reason to eat Nutella 😜) Last year around this time I wanted to make a Nutella Martini and I was actually pretty surprised that they haven't made a Nutella flavored vodka yet (Mark my words, it will be the next big thing! 😉) I decided I should try to make it on my own! I put regular vodka & Nutella into the blender and I was thrilled that it came out they way I had hoped! After a minute of blending I ended up with a rich, creamy Nutella flavored vodka. 👏🏻
Now you might think that's the only ingredient but don't let the chocolaty color of the Nutella vodka fool you because it is still very strong! I added 1 oz of Frangelico Hazelnut Liquor & 1 oz of cream. Shake it very well & serve!
This is by far one of my personal favorite martinis because I am slightly obsessed with eating Nutella! So for all my fellow Nutella Junkies...this one's for you! Happy World Nutella Day! Cheers!
What you'll need:
1 cup of Tequila
2 tablespoons Triple Sec Liqueur
2 tablespoons Strawberry Purée
1 cup of Limeade
2 tablespoons of Fresh Lime Juice
2 packets of Unflavored Gelatin
This past weekend we hosted a party for my 30th Birthday & as most of you will agree it is always quite a bit of work to juggle prepping food, drinks all while attempting to enjoying yourself. I always want to make sure that everyone else is having a good time! To make things a little easier on myself I prepped these Strawberry Margarita Jell-O shots a few days in advance. They ended up being a delicious addition to the party & I wanted to share the recipe with you guys!
You start by cutting all the limes in half & then you hollow them out. (That is by far the most tedious I part of making these!) Once they are hollowed out take the limeade and lime juice and pour that into sauce pan.
On low heat stir in the two packets of unflavored gelatin and strawberry purée.
Stir until the gelatin has dissolved!
Turn off heat, add the tequila and triple sec.
Pour the mixture into the lime halves and put them into the fridge for 4 hours (or until firm)
Cut the halves
Sprinkle with kosher salt & serve!

Growing up in an Italian family these tricolor cookies have always been a dessert staple. If by any chance you aren't familiar with them you need to go to your local bakery and prepare to fall in love! They are an almond flavored cake-like cookie with raspberry jam in between each brightly colored layer and topped with a chocolate coating. ARE YOU DROOLING YET?
The other night I was craving these cookies and my wheels starting turning with drink ideas. Creating dessert cocktails is kind of my "thing". I love the idea of finishing the night with a drink that is also a dessert. (It's a win-win in my book!) After a nice dinner with my honey we came home and I told him to sit tight while I make him one of my newest creations. (You always need an official taste tester!) I brought him over this Rainbow Cookie Martini and his face lit up. (As we both grew up loving these cookies) He is not always a dessert cocktail guy so I took it as a big compliment that he quickly drank the entire thing and of course snagged the cookie off of the rim.
If you want to impress guests at a gathering or are craving a decadent dessert drink this is a drink recipe you MUST try! It's easy to prepare and delicious to drink. Cheers!
